Myanmar Man Caught On Camera Throwing Himself Against Moving Car In Kajang As An Attempt To Extort Money

A Myanmar man has been exposed for repeatedly using the smash-and-grab scam to defraud unsuspecting drivers. According to the latest dashcam footage circulating online, the man employed the same tactic multiple times on the same day, targeting different vehicles in an attempt to extort money.

The video shows a car moving forward after the traffic light turned green when the man, wearing red, suddenly leaped onto the vehicle, deliberately causing a collision. The dramatic incident resulted in his slippers flying off into the air as he fell to the ground. The footage, which has gone viral, captured the incident happening at approximately 10:50 AM on the 17th of this month, believed to be in Jalan Besar, Sungai Long town.

According to Oriental Daily, netizens have taken to social media to warn the public about this individual. A post on the Crown City @ Sungai Long Facebook page revealed that this was not the man's first time pulling off such a scam. Several users reported witnessing him rushing onto the road to intentionally create accidents, advising fellow road users to remain vigilant.

Earlier reports suggest that the same man was involved in another staged accident between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM that same morning at the traffic lights near the junction of Sungai Long Road and Mahkota Cheras 2nd Road. This means he attempted to defraud multiple drivers within a short span of time.

Kajang City Councilor Chen Diyuan commented on the incident, stating that the scammer seemed to be waiting for the right moment to strike. According to Chen, the man rushed backward toward the vehicle when the driver approached the scene, deliberately placing himself in harm's way.

"When the driver, the victim, stopped and got out to check if the man was injured, he [the scammer] extended his hand to request medical expenses, yet refused to get into the car to go to the hospital for proper treatment," explained Chen.

Authorities and the public are urging road users to be cautious of such scams and report any suspicious incidents immediately. The incident serves as a reminder of the growing number of fraudulent tactics employed on the roads and the importance of dashcams to capture and verify these incidents.
