Heart-warming | Teachers Help Orang Asli Sell Sweet Potatoes Online
It’s amazing how our one little act can end up becoming a big help to others.
Three teachers at Sekolah Kebangsaan Lemoi at Cameron Highland are kind enough to help the residents of Kampung Orang Asli Lemoi to promote their sweet potatoes on social media. As a result, they finally managed to sell off almost 500kg of the root vegetables.
The 3 Samatitans - Hanisah Mat Hussin, Nor Mahidatulasma Yusof and Wan Zamani Wan Musa - who are teachers to children of the village, knew very well that sweet potatoes were a source of income to the villagers, but because of MCO, the sales have dropped.
“After discussing it with Nor Mahidatulasma and Wan Zamani, I posted an advertisement of the sweet potatoes on the social media,” Hanisah told Bernama, as reported by Malay Mail.
Her advertising post on Twitter was shared more than 1,000 times on April 12. And this is how they got to sell the sweet potatoes.
It’s more touching when she also said, “We used the hashtag ‘kitajagakita’. We may not be able to help everyone, but at least we could do something for those people around us.”
While this kind of stories often move our hearts, the kindness of those people involved, we should learn and practice in our daily lives too.
