According to the Selangor Fire and Rescue Director, Norazam Khamis said, a team of eight members including officers from the Kota Anggerik Fire and Rescue Station were rushed to the scene after receiving an emergency call at about 3.30 AM.
The rescue team, who arrived at the scene about five minutes later, tried to persuade the victim while carrying out rescue operations at the same time, apart from installing air mattresses beneath him. It is understood that the man climbed from the 17th floor to get to the roof of the 18th floor.
"The man was feeling suicidal due to the fact that he had failed to get a response from his lover. The man, who is a recent divorcee since last November, admitted to having tried committing suicide in Penang as well. According to Norazam, the four-hour rescue mission was also aided by the man's brother and his ex-wife.
