A Facebook user named Muhammad Hanis has expressed his frustration over the mistreatment that his differently-abled (OKU) brother had experienced working at a McDonald's branch in Senawang, Negeri Sembilan.
In a screenshots series of text message exchanges between the manager and Hanis's brother, it is understood that his brother was assigned to come to work one particular weekend for a 9 AM shift, by one of the managers. However, due to misunderstanding and vague instructions from the management, the brother did not show up, thinking he was excused.
According to the Facebook post, the working schedule distributed to the staff, which was sent at 1 AM which was just hours before the shift was supposed to start, did not specifically state that his brother's name was included, instead, they had only written there his registered serial number.
Due to this, one of the managers took to their assigned work group chat to express a piece of their mind, calling him "stupid". Seeing the Whatsapp conversation, Muhammad Hanis decided to take matters into his own hand.
Admitting that he was not able to contain his anger and react in a civilized manner, Muhammad Hanis ended his post by urging the upper management of McDonald's Malaysia to take immediate and appropriate action against this unacceptable behavior.
