The new and improved TNG card is available and it looks pretty cute!
Based on reports, the Enhanced TNG Card comes with NFC which allows top up right from your phones, and we're here to teach you what it does, what it doesn't do and how it works.
Check it out.
What the new Enhanced TNG Card can do:
1. It has a NFC (Near Fields Communication) system which allows you to reload your card straight from your phone without having to go to any counters or kiosks.
2. Can be used to make payments at any terminals which accept Touch n' Go including public transport.
3. Can be used with your SmartTAG for highway toll payments.
4. Can be ordered directly from the eWallet just like ordering an RFID tag (when it is made available).
What the new Enhanced TNG Card can't do:
1. It isn't a Visa PayWave or a Mastercard, so you cant use it to pay at normal credit or debit card terminals.
2. NFC top-up feature is not automatic, so you would have to tap the card on your phone with your Touch n Go eWallet (phone = personal touch n' go kiosk).
How the new Enhanced TNG Card can be used:
The eWallet app will get a new top-up feature for both iOS and Android which requires users to place the card at the back of the phone for at least 5 seconds.
You can then transfer credit from your eWallet to your new card.
Important things to take note of:
1. Has to have sufficient balance inside at all times, especially for places which do not support PayDirect (paying directly from the eWallet balance).
2. The NFC top-up feature is not available yet and you'll have to wait for the Touch n' Go eWallet to update their app.
3. The card costs RM10 without any preloaded credit.
And that's on the Enhanced TNG Card, we hope we helped!
