Bryan who had his hair grow out for 3 years, chopped it all off and donated it to cancer patients, in remembrance of his mother, who also had cancer.
Jaclyn, his mom, passed in 2017 of breast cancer. He told media outlets that she was diagnosed way back in 2008.
She beat the disease, but years later faced a relapsed. The cancer elevated to advanced stages, before she passed.
“My mom has always reminded me to do good deeds, as many as I can”, he said. Bryan listened and decided to donate his hair because of it.
He had his haircut this year, and announced that he had been keeping his hair since 2021.
He went to a salon near his house and told the hairstylist of his intentions. The salon then sent his hair to Locks of Hope, an NGO associated with creating wigs for cancer patients.
“The only money you have to spend is your haircut fee. You can actually visit any hair salon of your liking, and send the hair to an NGO yourself”, he said.
Before you give it away, you have to make sure your hair is at least 6 inches (15cm) long. Permed of dyed hair is only accepted after 6 months. This is based on a FB post from Locks of Hope.
