The well-known rapper, Cardi B., certainly has a voice to speak, by condemning the US government for their response on Covid-19 case, as well as calling out the other celebrities on creating confusion towards the general public.
In her recent IGTV, she commented that the US government shouldn't be sending people who are tested positive with Covid-19 home, because most of the people are living in a small space and with other family members, and it's very likely that they might pass the virus to their family.
She also added that the US government should be responsible for the charges of getting tested and not charge people for it.
"The government should take that s***, should charge that s*** to the game, and not charge people for it. It shouldn't be charging no m************ Medicaid, health insurance, none of that s***."
She then calls out the celebrities who have no symptoms showing but tested positive with Covid-19. Shed added that these celebrities are paying a very high price to get tested and treated. In her opinion, this has caused confusion to the general public, as it might mislead people into thinking that they should be getting the test even if they don't have any symptoms when they shouldn't be doing that as the country now doesn't have enough resources to test everyone out and the resources should be saved for those in needs.
The statement has received a clap back from the famous actor, Idris Elba, who was tested positive and with no symptoms. The actor certainly disagrees with the statement. He also calls out to those who misinterpreted Cardi B.'s statement saying that celebrities are getting paid to said they caught the virus.
In the author's humble opinion, it is too soon to come to a conclusion of whether who is right or wrong at this stage. But, one thing we know that Cardi B. was not all wrong. This is a crucial time and the celebrities should be setting a good example as well. The government has made it clear that you should only get tested when you have the symptoms, so as a celebrity, you should be careful with your words and influence.
However, that certainly poses a question, why do these celebrities get tested out for COVID-19 in the first place? The reason is unclear.
Cardi B. also criticize the US government for not doing any prevention when China first started out.
