Thinking of revamping your style this year? You might want to consider rethinking your current collection! As always, fashion is a fleeting industry, and what might be in this season could easily be in sharp decline the next, and vice versa. According to fashion enthusiasts, these trends are dangerously on the verge of being out of style.
Do you own any of these pieces?
1. Denim shorts with exposed pockets
We're guessing the protruding sacks under those shirts can look unflattering and people are officially saying goodbye to this look.
2. Lingerie as tops
This is actually a really sexy trend and we're lowkey sad to see it go.
3. Real fur
In 2022, we're vehemently condemning animal cruelty! Condoning the suffering of animals just so you can look fashionably in trend is SO last season. Faux fur, or nothing else.
3. Cold shoulder tops
Cold-shoulder tops were IT circa 2011-2013, and now it looks like people are moving on to cut out crop tops.
4. Bike shorts
Bike shorts were once upon a time the epitome of effortless chic. Recently though, people seem to lean more towards baggy chic than athletic aesthetics.
5. Leopard print anything
Need we say more?
6. Camo print anything
Between the John Cena jokes and their unflattering swirl of colors, it takes quite an effort to rock a camo print without looking flat.
7. Skater skirts
Skater skirts are losing their charms this season, however, midi pencil skirts are still here to stay.
8. Skinny jeans
After the infamous skinny jeans vs baggy jeans debate between millennials and Gen-Z , are we really surprised about this? Skinny jeans have officially been outcasted this year, but rumor has it they'll be back again next year.
9. Tunics
There are far better tops you can put on than tunics, 2022 says.
10. Knit pants
Knit pants were one of the main characters in 2021, but 2022 has fresher ideas, to name a few: bootcut pants, low-rise cargo pants, leather pants, and more to come.
Cut-out trends are predicted to dominate the fashion industry in 2022.
That being said, wear whatever makes you feel good! At the end of the day, confidence is still the best outfit you can put on. "out-of-trend" pieces can still look fashionable if you know how to style them well. Remember, having your own authentic style is a better ground to stand on than being a slave to the fleeting trends.
You do you, girlies!
