Make up Tricks
1. Eye
1.1 Warm up your mascara so you can apply it more smoothly. It will be less clumpy when you apply them.
1.2 Use eyeshadow primer to make your eyeshadow to last longer and make it look more pigmented. Apply them particularly on the eyelids as your eyelids get oily easily. That will end up smudging and leave a second line on your eyelid.
1.3 The right eyeshadow brush can go a long way. It helps for you to blend better.
1.4 Get the perfect wing with just a piece of tape
1.5 Use white liner as the base for your eyeshadow to give it more pop.
1.6 For an easy smokey eye, draw a slanted hashtag at the outer corner of your eye and blend it out with a smudger.
1.7 Matte Bronzer for your eyelid crease and lower lash line to make your eyes look bigger.
2. Contours
2.1 When you’re getting a new foundation, swatch it on your hand and put it under different lighting to make sure it’s true match. Also before you do, give it approximately 15 minutes to settle in as many products will oxidize once they’re on your skin which will lead to a slight change of colour.
2.2 Different ways to contour for your face shape. If you don’t do it the right way it might look a little odd an a little droopy.
2.3 Contouring the E3 method. Start at the top of your forehead and bring the bronze down to the side of your hairline along your temple then to the hollow of your cheek underneath your cheek bone. Continue it from your ear, bronze along your jawline too.
2.4 Get rid of your dark circles by blending it out with concealer in a wide triangle shape to look more ‘awake’. Then also add a little bit of colour to look more natural.
2.5 For an extra thick lashes, layer powder between coats of mascara. Do one coat of mascara and while it's still wet use a brush and dust your lashes with a dark eyeshadow, then do your second coat. The powder makes your eyelashes look thicker and more dramatic without the need for an expensive mascara.
3. Lips
3.1 Make your own lip gloss by mixing loose pigments of eyeshadow with salve or petroleum jelly.
3.2 Mark an ‘X’ on your upper lips as a guideline for a perfect Cupid’s bow shape lips.
3.3 You don’t always need a lip liner for your liquid matte lipstick. A solid 90% of liquid lipsticks do just fine on their own and the only reason you would need a lip liner is as a mediating shade between your pigment and your skin.
3.4 Overdraw your lip line. To capture the true Angeline Jolie pout, choose a lip liner that is slightly darker than your natural lip color. And remember, a little goes a long way in the makeup world—trace the liner just slightly outside your natural lip line to avoid the clown look.
3.5 Apply lip balm or Vaseline to allow your lip liner pencil to glide on easily. Apply a nude lip liner to line your lip shape and fill in your lip with the liner. Top with the lipstick color of your choice. It will make your color and lips pop. This is a fab tip when wearing red.
