5 Things You Might Have Missed from Adele’s Easy on Me Music Video

Just a few hours ago, after a 5-year hiatus, our favourite singer who creates song that we can scream to in the car, Adele is officially back after releasing the music video for her brand-new song Easy on Me.

Looks like the 5-year wait was worth it because we have this song on repeat, and we still can’t get enough of it.

Instead of giving us a song about a horrible relationship, cheating or even lies, she gave us a mature and sophisticated song about a great love, that came to an end.

Even the video gave us a sense of nostalgia because of the way it was shot that combined several elements from her previous videos.

In case you missed it, here are some of the hidden details and facts about Adele’s new music video for Easy On Me:

1. The video was shot in the same house used in the ‘Hello’ music video.

In Hello, Adele was moving into the house whereas in Easy on Me, Adele is moving out. As we all know, Adele and her long-term beau of 6 years, Simon Konecki, got a divorce. This could be a representation of her moving on and leaving the past behind.

Here are some of the obvious similarities with the house in Hello and Easy on Me:

+ The Curtain

+ Bad Signal & Strong Winds

In both Hello and Easy on Me, you can see that Adele is portrayed to be on the phone but with bad signal and with strong winds blowing the leaves and her hair.

2. Adele being Adele

The 5-year wait for Adele’s comeback built up everyone’s anticipation and excitement. In the video, after the call Adele says “Here we go again” in a typical Adele way which just reminded her fans of how much they’ve missed Adele and her quirkiness.

3. The transition from B&W to Colour

The Easy on Me video starts of in black and white, then towards the end of the video, it transitions to colour. The transition here reflects the lyrics of the song "I changed who I was to put you both first, but now I give up”. Meaning that she’s finally decided to stop forcing herself to change who she really is and finally accepted herself and the lyrics and the transition shows that she’s owning it!

4. This is her third video featuring her in a house and her second video of her in a car

In the past, we’ve seen Adele make several video with her in a house, like Rolling in the Deep and Hello. This is the third video featuring her in a house.

A twitter user with the handle @queenadelesIays even claimed that all three houses are the same, just going throigh different processes. In Rolling in the deep, she was building the house, in Hello she was moving in and in Easy on Me she was moving out.

Besides videos of Adele singing in houses, this is also the second video featuring Adele singing in a car, the first was Chasing Pavements.

5. The car number plate

Adele’s Easy on Me was shot in Montreal, Quebec however, if you watch the video, you’ll notice that the car plates are not Montreal plates but New Hampshire plates. The reason for this is because the city’s motto is Live Free or Die, which is printed on the car’s number plate was once voiced by General John Stark, "Live Free Or Die; Death Is Not The Worst Of Evils."

The car number plate reflects the whole meaning of the video which shows Adele moving forward, finally accepting herself and living free.

Welcome back, Adele!
