Following the viral looting incident in Shah Alam, which shows a displaced group of flood victims breaking into a Mydin mart, in a desperate attempt to scour whatever edible items they could find. The incident reportedly escalated after the victims were stranded for far too long without any aid from the government.
Mydin has experienced a massive loss of over millions of ringgit due to the flood, which happens to be located in the area in Selangor that has been affected worst. However, in a heartwarming statement released today, Datuk Wira (Dr.) Haji Ameer Ali Mydin has pardoned those involved in the looting.
In his statement, he said, "In all sincerity, I forgive those victims who have broken into the Mydin Hypermarket in Sri Muda, Shah Alam, who did so out of desperation to survive." His statement received an array of admiration from Malaysians who were touched by his selfless gesture.
