A 33-year-old man named Toy has been arrested for murdering his wife, Noon (27), and burning her body to eliminate evidence. Toy initially reported a false case to the police, claiming that Noon had disappeared after an argument in their car on the night of the 18th. However, under rigorous questioning and the scrutiny of surveillance footage, Toy eventually confessed to the gruesome crime.
According to reports, Toy chose to burn the body in a rubber plantation in Thailand, citing its remote and secluded nature, known to him from previous drives through the area. Residents near the rubber plantation informed the police that the location where Toy disposed of his wife's body is rarely frequented, accessible only during specific times when villagers come to harvest rubber.
Toy admitted to his familiarity with the area, explaining that he had previously driven his wife to work in Cambodia, specifically choosing the remote location to avoid detection.
On Wednesday, the police took Toy to the crime scene for a reconstruction. Clad in a dark grey hoodie, pants, sunglasses, and a face mask, Toy demonstrated how he killed his wife, placed her in a suitcase, and transported her to the rubber plantation for incineration. He expressed remorse, stating, "No one is without sorrow. I apologize to my family and my wife. I was wrong."
He revealed that a quarrel about his ex-girlfriend ensued while they were driving home on Chaeng Wattana road, leading him to beat her with a brick. Despite intending to strike her arm, the fatal blow landed at the back of her neck. Upon reaching their residence, he discovered she was still alive, prompting him to deliver another fatal blow to her head with a heavy object.
During the crime reenactment, he further confessed that he had been drinking beer throughout the drive from his house in Pak Kret district of Nonthaburi to Prachinburi. Upon arrival, he played a cartoon movie for their child while he took her body out of the vehicle and used 1,400 baht worth of petrol, purchased at a pump, to burn it.
"I did not intend to throw a brick at Noon's head. At that moment, Noon threw a brick, hitting the back of her neck. I was furious, especially with her constant mention of my ex, combined with everyone being intoxicated. I can only compensate for the repercussions that follow," Toy stated with a sense of regret.
