We bet you’ve heard about the dramas Crash Landing On You and Vincenzo… well there’s news!
Based on reports, the two K-Dramas are to be remade in the US and the producer of has given the greenlight.
Unlike the usual practice of selling remake rights to other studios, Studio Dragon (the producer of both the dramas), chose to not sell the rights to American companies.
Instead, they are working with American partners to rebuild the series from the ground up.
Such partnerships are usually uncommon because of the complex nature of intellectual property rights and filming regulations. But Studio Dragon believes that working directly with American studios will make them more money.
The Studio is not just selling rights and stepping away, they’re actively involved in the remake process—which makes us all the more excited, because that means more quality shows!
Crash Landing on You tells the story of a South Korean heiress who accidentally lands in North Korea and falls in love with a North Korean soldier who helps her hide.
Vincenzo tells the story of a Korean-Itakian lawyer and Mafia advisor who returns to Korea to fight against untouchable criminals, but also finds love and belonging along the way.
