After a video went viral on social media, police are now on the hunt for the suspect in the video, who was posing a risk to other drivers safety as they were driving along the opposite flow of traffic on the East Traffic Distribution Highway (EDL).
South Johor Bahru District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Raub Selamat said that his department had detected that the video had been making its rounds on several social media platforms and that the evidence in question shows a white car with a foreign number plate, cruising against the traffic direction of Johor Bahru towards Pandan, Johor.
"On Friday around 5.19pm, the South Johor Bahru District Police Headquarters (IPD) detected a video that went viral on Facebook showing a car being driven against the current on the EDL Highway."
"Preliminary investigations found that the incident happened at around 12.30 midnight and the police are still tracking the driver of the car."
"In connection with that, the police request that the public who have any information related to the incident contact investigating officer Inspector Nurul Nafiza Othman on 014-8068350 to assist with the investigation," he urged.
