We have all been through a point in life when we learnt life-lessons a little later than we wish we did.
No matter the context, mistakes and regrets have, on numerous occasions, had us telling ourselves if only I knew then what I know now.
Been there done that, we found the 6 things we wish we knew sooner, but also the same 6 things that is never too late to learn.
#1 Beauty is only skin deep
As important as it is being physically attractive, do not go believing that is everything. Instead, spend extra time helping yourself to mentally and emotionally thrive.
Educate yourself, address recurring toxic thoughts, deal with insecurities and find a way to be happy on your own first and foremost.
#2 Say no
You don't owe an explanation to anyone when you say no. It is your boundaries and if someone is offended by that, that's their problem.
You'll get nowhere letting the world define you.
#3 Fun is what excites you
Do all the things which makes your soul sing. If something doesn't necessarily sound good to you, that doesn't mean you're not having fun.
We all have our own thing, and its perfectly fine if yours doesn't match the next guy.
#4 Do not settle
Before sharing your life with another, discuss important things; bills, parenting, debts, family, beliefs, traumas, sex, health history, bucket lists, career, education, political views.
You cannot live on love alone.
#5 Savor time
Your best years would be filled with making friends, losing friends, making mistakes, correcting them, falling, failing, learning, realizing, falling in love, getting hurt, losing yourself and becoming stronger.
Take it all as it comes and stop worrying about the future. Live now.
#6 Heal
And last but not least, before you make any monumental moves, be sure to be completely happy, satisfied and healed.
Keep in mind that there is no point in bleeding on people who didn't cut you.
