Working from the office was acceptable until it was not.
Two years ago, a pandemic hit us, and it's safe to say that nothing has been the same since. One stark difference we assimilated into is the transition from working in the office to working from home.
What started off bumpy, became rather convenient, and now as life inches back to normal, many have begun to see the appeal in remaining at home.
Based on a little research and a lot of common sense, here are 6 reasons why people do not want to go back into the office.
#1 Commuting
As fun as travelling can be, you've got to admit that no one likes spending hours on public or private transport getting to work and back. The jams, throngs of people and fatigue just ain't worth it.
#2 Dressing Up
Doing it for a date, or a girls night out every once in awhile is fun, but to figure out what to wear day in and day out is not something most look forward to.
#3 Buying Lunch
Buying lunch is so much more expensive than making lunch or even skipping lunch altogether. Besides that, choosing what to eat? Another puzzle not worth solving.
#4 Public Toilets
When we can go whenever in the comfort of our own homes (and the comfort of our own bowls), why go through the struggles of a public toilet, right?
#5 Timeout
Probably the best part, taking a break whenever things get too much. Whether its a nap, a snack break, having a short read, or watching a sitcom, a little brain rest, can go a long way.
#6 People
Last but definitely not the least, dealing with humans. Socializing is by far the most tiring aspect of being at work, so doing away with it altogether could actually feel pretty great.
Yes office experience and all that, but since working at home works and in some cases, proven to be much more effective, why not make it our new normal?
