It is known that the government might have plans to work on the implementation of a multi-lane free flow (MLFF) toll payment system in Malaysia.
The goal is to have the system operational by 2025, however, it could perhaps go into effect earlier.
Of course, there are numerous factors to take into account, but before the launch, pilot projects will be carried out to gauge public opinion.
There is a good chance that if the plan is implemented, the present TnG toll payment monopoly will be dissolved.
Nevertheless, there are also talks on whether to adopt the RFID transponders used in Singapore and Australia for MLFF payment. Well, it's reported that it could well be explored with extensive study and comparison to other various systems first.
