In Sony's animated Spider-Verse film trilogy, we got Nicholas Cage voicing Spider-Man Noir. Fortunately for you fans, that isn't going to be the last of him.
Based on reports, Amazon has announced that the actor will star in the upcoming live-action series, Noir, as the 1930s-based superhero. After confirming in March 2024, he has officially signed on to play Spider-Man Noir in Noir.
Noir will tell the story of an aging and down on his luck private investigator in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city's one and only superhero.
Emmy-winning director behind Fleabag and Killing Eve, is set to direct and executive produce the show's first two episodes.
"Expanding the Marvel universe with Noir is a uniquely special opportunity and we are honored to bring this series to our global Prime Video customers.
"The extremely talented Nicolas Cage is an ideal choice for our new superhero and the accomplished producing team with Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, Amy Pascal, and the incredible team at Sony is dedicated to expanding this franchise in the most authentic way", said head of television at Amazon MGM Studios.
President of Sony Pictures noted that they are absolutely thrilled to have Nicolas Cage starring in this series, as no one else could bring such pathos, pain, and heart to a singular character.
