Based on reports, Seoul, South Korea is experiencing its heaviest snowfall since the last 100 years.
The weather change happened in under 24 hours, and hurled the country right smack into winter.
Days earlier, the nation had just been enjoying warmer days, but by the time people awoke on Wednesday, thick snow had blanketed the city with its first snowfall this season.

The heaviest snowfall in Seoul before this was in 1907.
This was about 6.5 inches of snow. The overall record for Seoul is above four feet, set in 1969.
The snow began falling around midnight and piled up into the afternoon. A weather warning was in effect throughout the capital, as parts of Seoul received as much as 8 inches.

Commuters in the city slowed down, dozens of domestic and international flights were canceled, and more than 100 were delayed. Many hesitated to venture out and worked from home, leaving many restaurants near office buildings empty.
