Humans have lived on earth for an extremely long time, and for the length of that period, there has been an immeasurable number of occurrences and happenings which may have transcended. From some of the biggest natural phenomena like tsunamis, to man-made atrocities like mass shootings, each and every experience did in one way or another, alter the face of history.
However, in the aftermath of those episodes came conspiracy theories; different explanations from various people, of what could have possibly gone down with each happening, instead of what was reported to have gone down.
Narrowing those possible assumptions, here are 5 mind-boggling conspiracy theories, which seem to make a lot of sense and can’t help, but have us wondering ‘what if’.
#5 Aliens built Stonehenge?!
For this one to work, you’d got to first believe in aliens, which really is a story for another day. But for now, though, let’s hypothetically examine this.
There isn’t concrete evidence which suggests how the monument was actually built, but due to that lack of knowledge, many began associating Stonehenge with aliens. The stones of the monument, weigh up to 50 tons. It was built in 3000 BC, and the ultimate question about it is, how would it have been possible to be fashioned as such, using only primitive tools?
Based on a book published in 1968, by Erich von Däniken called ‘Chariots of the Gods? Unsolved Mysteries of the Past’, he claims that Stonehenge was actually built by aliens who visited earth. That, or at least they provided the necessary knowledge and technologies to build it. In his book, he also gives them credit for the Pyramids, the Easter Island Moai, and others.
I mean, we don’t know about aliens, but it does pose a legitimate question.
#4 9/11 was an inside job
One with an endless list of conspiracy theories is the 9/11 attack on the twin towers, and the 7 World Trade Center in the United States, back in 2001.
Reported to have been attacked in terror by the al-Qaeda, a militant Sunni Islamist multi-national organization, founded in 1988 by one Osama bin Laden, many theorists, have also since come up with alternative ‘what-actually-happened(s)’.
All stemming from being an inside job, two of the most prominent theories are, one, the buildings didn’t collapse from the crash, but rather from explosives which were priorly installed inside, as a means of controlled demolition.
Two, is the theory that the Pentagon (US Department of Defense) was hit by a missile from inside the US government. This was because of invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, to advance geostrategic interests, such as plans to construct a natural gas pipeline through Afghanistan.
From suspected insider trading, to hijackers, foreign governments, flight 93, Israeli agents and so many others, the cause of 9/11 is still being discussed up to today. Question remains to be, which one of them is the real story?
#3 Was Princess Diana killed?
Another occurrence which had the Internet raging since it happened was the death of Princess Diana. Said to be in a fatal car crash, theorists on the other hand, are convinced that she was rather, well, murdered.
Back during the incident, Princess Diana got in a Mercedes Benz with her then rumored boyfriend, Emad. The driver Paul, who was driving past the speed limit, lost control of the car, and crashed into a pillar in the middle of the highway. Princess Diana was rushed to the hospital and after two hours of great effort by doctors, she was pronounced dead.
Theories such as she was pregnant at the time of the crash, or that she was already aware of an attack which would befall her upon splitting from Prince Charles, begin to surface and continued on.
Whichever speculation though, the one same conclusion each came to was that, the death of Princess Diana was anything but an accident.
#2 Big Pharma is withholding the cure for Cancer
Number 2 on our list is a big one: the cure for cancer is out there, but is being hidden from the public, as a means to make profit. As WTF as that could sound, let’s think about this for a second.
Medical professionals and pharmaceutical companies make a ton of money from cancer treatments. As of September 2020, there has been reporting of about 100,000 people who get cancer every year, and with calculations as well as predictions, in the year 2024, the pharmaceutical industry could earn up to $1.2 trillion, just from oncological therapies of patients.
Cancer has been around for over 250 million years, and today in 2021, varying from the types of cancer, there is still a very limited percentage to surviving the deadly disease. Even after all the globalization, how do we still not have the cure? We live in a capitalist world after all, and with all that money, who’s to really say this couldn’t be truth?
#1 COVID-19 man-made?
Bringing our list to a close, is of course the only topic which seems to have been consuming our lives, every day for over a year now, the highly infectious and deadly, Coronavirus.
Covid-19 was said to have originated from a wet seafood market in Wuhan, China. Extremely contagious and rather fatal, the virus quickly spread throughout and spilled onto the borders of other countries worldwide. Infecting over 100 million and killing over 2 million to-date, there has since been numerous questions surrounding the novel virus.
Whether its reports of the virus being spread by bats, no one has actually yet uncovered how such a deadly virus came to be. However, there have been a number of theories, the biggest one being that the virus was in fact, engineered in a research lab in Wuhan. Theorists believe that it was created as a means to study and weaponize it.
Of course, from royalty scandals to catastrophic plagues, all these theories and many others from millions of happenings, have been discussed, debunked and then re-discussed, as a means to provide clarity to the masses. Are they true? Is there more than meets the eye? Which is which?
Who knows, right?
