Straight from the fingertips of Malaysia's 9th Prime Minister Ismail Sabri, it would appear that vacationing to Langkawi would be allowed from the 16th of September 2021 onward.
He announced that the island would be the first state to take part in the travel bubble program of the country, and locals would be able to set foot on it soon enough.
After meeting with the newly-formed Pandemic Management Special Committee, a unanimous vote was cast choosing Langkawi, as their first step to reopening the tourism sector of the country.

According to his tweet, more places would eventually be added to the list, once vaccination rates reach 80%. Despite numbers being at an all-time high for over a month now, Sabri noted that the country is very much on the right track.
Quoting New Straits Times yesterday, he said "Alhamdulillah, today, for the first time in months, the infectivity rate nationwide dropped. I am confident that we are on the right track toward national recovery."
Reports also noted that Malaysia would be 80% vaccinated by the end of September, and a 100% by the end of October.
