A recent incident involving a viral plea for financial assistance on social media has shed light on the disturbing trend of scamming and manipulation in donation requests. A generous individual named Ezy (ezyezzreen) who had previously extended help to the person in question took to Twitter to express frustration and warn others about her experience.
I have to stop helping random people on DM, bila kita dah derma, lepastu mintak lagi. What kind of attitude is that?? Why cant u put an effort to find your own money instead of asking people? You bukannya sakit pun, u sihat and boleh bekerja. pic.twitter.com/0L785ikR3y

Ezy shared her disappointment and regret for helping others via DM on social media. She expressed frustration over the behaviour of a recipient who continues to ask for more assistance, without making efforts to improve their own financial situation.
I dah tolong u RM100 haritu. So u pandai2 la cari duit Lepastu bukan meminta lagi . Funny thing you tak follow i pon dekat twitter tapi siap boleh follow up dekat DM mintak sekali lagi Its not proper sis. Dont do this to strangers. I dont even know you pun pic.twitter.com/uj02CdUlNr

She even donated RM100 to the person in question, expecting it to be a one-time act of charity.
I stalked your twitter, boleh pulak u beli Zus tapi cakap sampai takda duit dalam acc this is why i have trust issue on people pic.twitter.com/UsjFPqHVYR

To her surprise, the recipient of the donation proceeded to request additional funds through DM, despite not following her on Twitter. Ezy then discovered that the person had recently purchased a coffee at Zus while claiming to have no money in their account. This discovery left Ezy feeling deceived and questioning the honesty of the recipient.
Oh NO. Nampaknya this girl memang suka meminta dekat banyak orang. https://t.co/yOVD9OBVI4

Further examination of the recipient's social media activity revealed a troubling pattern. Numerous people had shared their encounters with the same individual, recounting instances where the person had repeatedly solicited donations using similar stories to gain sympathy.

Some individuals even claimed that the recipient had previously gone viral for similar reasons, changing their Twitter handle multiple times to evade scrutiny.

Ezy expressed her disillusionment and highlighted the need for caution when encountering donation requests from strangers online. She recounted a previous experience of helping another person in genuine need, but after being exposed to scams like this one, she no longer felt comfortable offering such assistance.
She also expressed sympathy for those who genuinely require help but cautioned against falling victim to manipulative tactics employed by scammers.
