Starting the teaser with “real or not real” on April Fools’ Day might just be the funniest tease ever!
Lionsgate took to TikTok today to share the latest teaser of the new Hunger Games: Sunrise On The Reaping movie and fans were sure skeptical!
Why?
Well, the teaser first showed the text “real or not real” before it began showing fans the prequel’s logo formed from a volcano erupting.
Though the elements of the teaser were quite simple, it spoke volumes!
Mainly, is it even real?!
Fans started questioning Lionsgate’s post as it was posted on 1st of April — the famous Fools’ Day.
But have fans been fooled?

No, they have not. It was just a coincidence in timing!
CinemaCon where many teasers and trailers of upcoming movies are usually premiered, just happened (on April 1) — which is why the post was made right after, on the very same day.
“I don’t like the idea of them showing this on April Fools’ Day” says one fan.
However, many replied fans directly, to assure them that the teaser is in fact real.
A portion of the flaming arena is shown in the teaser, which was released at CinemaCon on Tuesday in the shape of a logo reveal. One of the several features of Haymitch's games, a volcano, erupts, and the lava finally turns into a serpent.
The design of the flint striker that Haymitch wears as a necklace in Sunrise on the Reaping then combines the snake and a songbird, which are common elements in the Coriolanus Snow precursor “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.”
The movie will be released worldwide on November 20, 2026.
