Starting from this year, the birthday of the His Majesty Yang di-Pertuan Agong will be changed to the first Monday of June and it is listed as a public holiday. Amid COVID-19, a series of celebration activities such as prayer meetings, closing ceremony, royal tea party and others are forced to be extended.
On June 8, His Majesty Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah delivered a message through the Istana Negara's Facebook and Instagram.
His Majesty called on the Malaysians to unite and help the government recover the economy.
His Majesty also called on the people to be patient and disciplined with the new lifestyle, while observing all the directives issued by the government to curb the outbreak of COVID-19.
His majesty also highly praised the efforts and sacrifices of frontline personnel.
Finally, His Majesty also prayed for Malaysia to be blessed from any form of threat and to maintain lasting prosperity and unity.
