Two masked robbers broke into a residence in Taman Bukit Sri Senawang, Seremban in the early hours of the morning, wielding a machete as they barged in through a window. They then proceeded to hold the female homeowner and her young son hostage. During the terrifying ordeal, the robbers ransacked the house, making off with RM 25,000 in cash, gold jewellery, and even a Bezza car. Fortunately, the victims were not physically harmed.
The incident occurred at around 3 a.m. while only the female homeowner, Damir (39 years old), and her 9-year-old son were at home. Damir's husband, Narangalan (47 years old), was away at work during the robbery.
According to Damir, the two robbers entered their bedroom abruptly, jolting her and her son awake. One of the assailants held a machete menacingly against her neck, while the other aggressor physically threatened her son by stepping on his back.
"The robbers, who spoke in Malay, threatened me to reveal the location of the gold jewellery and proceeded to tie us up. They also covered our heads with a blanket before systematically searching the entire house. We remained in our room for about 45 minutes until we were sure the robbers had left. That's when we managed to free ourselves and sought help from my husband," recounted Damir.
After a careful inventory, it was determined that the family had lost a sum of cash, gold jewellery, and a mobile phone amounting to RM 25,000 in total. The robbers also made a quick escape with their Bezza car.
Damir further revealed that the robbers gained entry by prying open a window grille. There were also signs of an attempted break-in at the back door, indicating that the intruders had initially tried to enter there before opting for the rear window.
This incident marks the second home invasion in the area in just two weeks, causing alarm for the community's safety. Local councillor Gunarajan urged the Neighborhood Watch Program (KRT) to convene a meeting promptly to discuss potential measures to enhance security. This could include installing CCTV cameras around the residential area to ensure the safety of residents and their property.
He added that the police have been notified to expedite their investigation, and he called on residents to cooperate in preventing future criminal incidents by watching out for each other.
