Social media platforms were ablaze with controversy following an alleged incident involving supporters of Selangor FC and Perak FC at a petrol station along the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) last night. The altercation reportedly occurred shortly after the conclusion of a Super League match between Selangor FC and Perak FC at the Petaling Jaya City Council Stadium (MBPJ), where Selangor FC emerged victorious with a score of 2-1.
According to a viral video shared on social media platform X, it was claimed that supporters from Perak FC's ultras group, known as The Bos Gaurus (TBG), were involved in an altercation with a Selangor FC fan, allegedly a member of the ultras. The incident purportedly began after a bus carrying Perak ultras was reportedly attacked with stones on the highway by three Selangor supporters.
In response, the Perak ultras allegedly pursued the individual, who subsequently stopped at a petrol station to refuel. Reports indicate that the Perak ultras managed to apprehend one of the Selangor FC supporters during the confrontation. The viral video circulating on social media captured scenes of the altercation between Selangor FC and Perak FC supporters.
Subsequently, there were conflicting claims regarding the intentions behind the Perak ultras' actions, with some alleging a kidnapping attempt while others suggested they were merely taking the individual to a nearby police station for further handling. This incident underscores ongoing tensions between football supporters, with similar clashes having occurred previously, notably last December in the MBPJ stadium car park, resulting in several arrests by the police.
