For those who're still lost, the anime series tells the everyday life of 9-year old Maruko in Shimizu, Japan, together with her family & friends.
And, can't forget the tasty-looking food that she gets to eat in almost every episode.
Like the yummy Karumeyaki that Grandma made for Maruko! It's like a fluffy, sponge-like Dalgona candy but make it Japanese.
