When this whole COVID thingy is finally over, people are definitely going to rush to go on vacations. So, instead of spending a fortune on flight tickets and hotels in foreign countries, how about helping Malaysia’s travel industry out a little by visiting these local destinations that look foreign:
1. Desa Cattle Dairy Farm - Kundasang, Sabah
Just like the farms in New Zealand that you can see on every milk packaging, the Desa Cattle Dairy Farm is a farm filled with Friesian cows. You can feed the cute little calves and goats while also learning all about how milk is processed at the farm.
It is also the best place to get ice cream since it is made from the farm itself. Get some cute pics with the cows while enjoying the fresh air and the scenery.
2. Melaka River
You might be wondering what’s so great about a river? Well, Melaka is actually known as the Venice of the East.
So instead of going all the way to Venice, just drive a few hours to Melaka, Malaysia’s historical city and learn more about our countries history while also experiencing a sort of Venice holiday by walking along the river or even going an the rive cruise.
3. Pulau Rawa – Johor
Many of you just loves imagining yourself visiting the Caribbean with its blue waters and white sand, well, just go to Johor! They have tonnes of beaches that look exactly like that. One of the islands you should definitely stop by is Pulau Rawa, a relatively untouched island just off the coast of Johor.
Best for people who love nature, Pulau Rawa can give you a ton of adventures like snorkelling, scuba diving, kayaking and even hiking to watch the beautiful sunrise.
4. Japanese Village – Colmar Tropicale, Pahang
The Japanese village is a Japanese themed attraction in the Colmar Tropicale retreat. You can go there for a peaceful and quiet getaway from the city.
It is surrounded by lush greenery from its Zen Garden that surrounds the Japanese Tea House, Ume Tatami Suite and Tatami Spa. All you stress will just fade away with the tranquil and serene ambiance of the village.
5. Bako National Park – Sarawak
Dying to go to Krabi, Thailand? How about just visiting the Bako National Park in Sarawak. Before you go there, let me just warn you that if you’re not up for a 2-hour hike that will end with a beautiful view of sea stacks and beautiful beaches that maybe opt out of this one.
You hike through this National Park will be better then chilling on a beach in Krabi as you will pass through many different kinds of landscapes here, including swamps, mangrove forests, cliffs and beaches before finally reaching your destination.
6. Banjaran Hot Springs Retreat in Ipoh
While I don’t really know which exact foreign country destination this looks like, I definitely could not believe that this was in Malaysia. It is a 5-star sanctuary surrounded by natural caves, a verdant rainforest, cascading waterfalls, and geothermal hot springs.
It is the perfect getaway spot for you to cleanse off all the negative vibes from the city and recentre yourself before heading back out and conquering the world. If you don’t want to spend the night there then they even have all inclusive day passes for you to experience the Geothermal Hot Springs Dipping Pools, Thermal Steam Cave, Ice Bath, Crystal Cave and much more!
