Sarawak diver Elvis Priestley delivered a stunning performance at the 2024 SUKMA Games, capturing gold in the men’s 3-meter springboard event.
Priestley’s dives, noted for his minimal splash, have drawn comparisons to China’s Olympic diving champion Quan Hongchan.
His impressive performance, particularly in the final two rounds, secured a total score of 415.15 points, earning him the top spot.
Social media buzzed with praise for Priestley, with many suggesting he could be a strong contender for Malaysia at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
Coincidentally, Priestley’s name also attracted attention due to its similarity to the legendary singer Elvis Presley, adding to his growing popularity.
In addition to his individual success, Priestley, alongside his partner Enrique, won another gold medal in the men’s synchronized 10-meter platform event with a score of 384.72 points.
