ICYMI: "I Will Tell Everyone That I Am From Genting!" After 18 Years As A Coach For The Msian Track Cycling Team, John Beasley Finally Obtained A PR Card!

Sungai Pisang in Gombak has always been hailed by Malaysians as one of the hidden wonderlands in Selangor. This wonderland is not only popular among climbers, but many people who are not sensitive to mountain climbing will also make an appointment with friends to explore this secret place in order to see the spectacular waterfalls in the mountain and the large tunnels along the way.

However, Sungai Pisang is still located in the forest, so if you want to go to Sungai Pisang Waterfall to play in the water, you must always pay attention to the weather and environment to avoid "going in but not coming out"!

According to BERNAMA and Astro Awani, Selangor Fire Department (JBPM) Operations Commander Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar revealed that the fire department received a report at 1:41 pm on August 11, 2024 that someone was trapped in Sungai Pisang, so 6 firefighters were dispatched to rescue.

When the firefighters arrived at the scene, they found a total of 25 men and women trapped in a river tunnel due to flash floods, and immediately launched a search and rescue operation.

Operational commander Suhaimi Samoory told the media that the 25 trapped men and women include 20 Malaysians and 5 Indonesians, all aged between 20 and 40.

It is reported that the 25 victims were playing in the water at the time and wanted to go from Kuala Lumpur along the river through a tunnel towards Karak. Unexpectedly, a flash flood suddenly broke out, trapping them in the tunnel.

It is not difficult to see from the video footage at the scene that the water flow in the river tunnel is fast, and the climbers can only stay on the shore and wait for rescue by the fire brigade.

Fortunately, all 25 people were successfully rescued by firefighters and no one was injured in the incident.

Suhaimi Samoory added that there was actually another group of 39 hikers who passed through the river tunnel that day, heading from Karak to Kuala Lumpur. Fortunately, they all managed to get out of the forest without the assistance of firefighters.

It is said that mountains and rivers are ruthless. When you go to the mountains and waterfalls to play in the water in the future, remember to be extra careful to avoid accidents!
