ICYMI: Watch Your Back In This Eerie New Trailer for The Watcher
Netflix's hugely-anticipated mystery-thriller The Watcher has *finally* arrived and, yep, it's seriously creepy. Based on a true story, the show has already jumped right to the top of viewers' watchlists, with fans becoming thoroughly invested in the real events.
To recap, The Watcher focuses on the Brannock family, who move into a new dream house only to be disturbed by ominous letters from an anonymous stalker.
The series launched on Netflix on 13 October, and fans have already been sharing the same reactions to the series, with others digging into where the real characters are now.
But will there be a season two? Here's everything we know about a second instalment of The Watcher...
Has The Watcher season 2 been confirmed?
Netflix has confirmed a season two for The Watcher will be happening.
Following the record-breaking success of DAHMER - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, Ryan Murphy & Ian Brennan will create two more installments that will focus on other monstrous figures who have impacted society.

In a tweet posted on 7th November the streaming platform said: "Following the record-breaking success of DAHMER - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, Ryan Murphy & Ian Brennan will create two more instalments that will focus on other monstrous figures who have impacted society.
"A second season of The Watcher has also been greenlit!"
Of course, being based on a true story, the second series for The Watcher could depend on whether there's more of the real tale to tell. The original story was first published in a 2018 article on The Cut, which has recently been updated with a four-year follow-up.
Still, despite multiple investigations by the police and private detectives, The Watcher has never been identified. That means that any potential developments in the eerie case could lead to a new plot for any further instalments.
Who might star in The Watcher season 2?
Now that season two has been confirmed we'd expect to see leads Bobby Cannavale and Naomi Watts returning as Dean and Nora Brannock, however no cast members have been confirmed yet.
There's also the iconic Jennifer Coolidge, who plays realtor Karen Calhoun. The last we see of Karen in the series finale, she's running away from 657 Boulevard screaming after encountering The Watcher. So, would she come back for a season two? Here's hoping.
One cast member will sadly not be returning, and that's Noma Dumezweni who stars as private investigator Theodora Birch. S1 sadly saw Theodora die after battling liver cancer throughout the series, so we'd only expect to see her back in flashback form.
What could happen in The Watcher season 2?
Again, the plot for The Watcher S2 will depend upon developments in the real case.
As it stands, the real Watcher has never been caught. The real-life Broaddus family (who inspired the Brannocks) sold the house in 2019, five years after they originally bought it, and a new family moved in. The Broadduses gave the new owners a picture of the letter they received from The Watcher so they could identify their handwriting should they receive a letter. So far the family hasn't.
When might The Watcher season 2 be released?
Season two of The Watcher has just been confirmed, however we'll need to wait a little longer until we have a confirmed release date. But it's likely there wouldn't be anything until at least the end of 2023 or later.
The Watcher is streaming now on Netflix.
