ZUS Coffee has just released a public apology saying "we hear you, and we should have known better."
But are they actually hearing the people?
Part of their recent marketing efforts, ZUS Coffee 'collaborated' with Adidas in an effort to bridge both brands together, all in the name of fun.
"Good coffee, and new kicks anyone?"
Well, no one.
With the genocide and ethnic cleansing happening in Palestine, many Malaysians were puzzled as to why ZUS Coffee, a local coffeehouse decided to 'collaborate' with a brand that is under the boycott movement list.
As far as everyone knows, Malaysians are very much taking this situation seriously so the question on netizens' minds are, why aren't brands or better yet local brands, acting the same?
Their statement reads "We heard your concerns about our participation at a recent sports-fashion event. This was a one-off activity, we wish to make it clear that it was not a collaboration. Nevertheless, we hear you, and we should have known better."
However, some Malaysians are calling BS on the statement.
Besides the brand saying they should have known better, in the lengthy statement, they go on further saying "ZUS Coffee will never knowingly associate ourselves with war and unequivocally condemns any act of violence against humanity."
And Malaysians are picking them apart.
