On May 2nd, the Malaysian government made the Astrazeneca vaccine for Covid-19 an opt-in for the citizens of KL and Selangor.
One of the smartest decisions yet, the step was greeted well by many, and within 4 hours, registrations for the shots were filled up. However, there were still many who were unsuccessful, and didn't make it in time.
As netizens complained about the limited number of cures, Malaysia went ahead to order more as means to open registration lines yet again, for the remainder of the people.
Taking to Twitter yesterday, Malaysian politician Khairy Jamaluddin via a tweet stated that, registrations for the AZ vaccine will once again be opened on the 23rd of May for those above 60 years of age.
Prioritizing first the elderly, on May 26th registrations will then be opened to the general public, from Selangor and KL, as well as other high-in-positive-cases states like Johor, Penang and Sarawak.
