One of the most common struggles I face with my skincare is having dry lips and every time I bring it up to someone their advice is: drink more water. It is good advice, yes, one should always make sure that they are drinking sufficient amounts of water to ensure that they don't suffer from problems like dry lips but what if one isn't really a fan of water?
Yep, that's right, I am ashamed to say that I don't really like water. I mean it is tasteless! As I am writing this I realise how problematic those sentences were but hey, I am just trying to be honest. So, due to my dislike of water, I do not drink enough of it and struggle with dry lips all the time.
WARNING: Don't be like me. Drink more water, it is good for you.
The skin on my lips is constantly peeling and cracking causing it to bleed occasionally. And honestly, it isn't that attractive to look at. If there was an award for the least kissable lips on the planet, I'd be the winner. It is not something to be proud of but it is the truth!
Upon realising I had a serious problem, I tried drinking more water (emphasis on tried) and decided to try out Vase Creation's Lip Tea-rapy. As we all know, tea is well-known for its antioxidant, anti-ageing and anti-inflammatory properties. It is known for giving you healthy and glowing skin which is why it is a common ingredient in most face masks and even face cleansers. Since my problem area is my lips, I thought let's see how tea can help heal my disgustingly flaky lips.
Vase Creation's Lip Tea-rapy are lip balms that also function as lip treatments. They are infused with their very own special tea essences and extracts from imported harvested tea leaves. Besides the tea essences, it also contains castor oil, jojoba oil and vitamin E to nourish and heal your lips. They come in 3 variations, earl grey, oolong and matcha each with the same benefits, just depending on which kinda tea you prefer.
I have tried several lip balms in the past but nothing with tea essences, so I was interested to see if the natural healing properties of tea would heal my lips. I decided to try it for 7 days and see if it would help my lips and here's how it affected me:
+ Moisturising & Hydrating
When you have lips without enough moisture and hydration, they tend to crack and peel all the time. I noticed that after applying Vase Creation's Lip Tea-rapy, the peeling and cracking definitely reduced. My lips absorbed the moisture that they were in dire need of from the Lip Tea-rapy. They felt more moist and hydrated which prevented them from peeling and cracking as often as they used to.
Not only did I use it throughout the day but I also used it before bed and it worked its wonders overnight! For a week, I woke up to rejuvenated lips that looked so healthy. This was a huge change for me since normally I wake up to a few brand new cracks on my lips.
+ Healing
I noticed that Vase Creation's Lip Tea-rapy kept my lips moisturised and hydrated for a week, my lips that were chapped and filled with sores from all the cracking and bleeding gradually got better! The small wounds that came from the cracks didn't last that long and by the end of the week, the cracking stopped so there weren't any sore spots or open wounds.
It is quite a struggle to eat and drink with wounds on my lips. On bad lip days, I would normally avoid eating my favourite spicy dishes because they would burn terribly but since my lips started healing thanks to Vase Creation's Lip Tea-rapy, I could finally eat spicy food because there weren't as many wounds and by the 4th day all the wounds healed!
+ Long-Lasting
Overall I applied it after each meal I ate. Just like any other lip balm, it will disappear after you eat and wash your mouth, so you'll definitely have to reapply it. But after applying, the goodness is absorbed by my lips and my lips felt moisturised throughout the day. There's no need to continuously reapply it.
It doesn't make your lips feel oily and you barely even notice it on your lips, all you'll realise is how moist and soft your lips feel. IT also has different scents and each scent is unique. Tea lovers will definitely love the oolong and earl grey scents while all those matcha lovers should try the matcha one. It is like you're constantly drinking tea without even drinking it!
+ Supple & Baby Soft Lips
At the end of the week, after religiously applying Vase Creation's Lip Tea-rapy I was left with soft and supple-looking lips which made them absolutely kissable. It managed to transform my lips from least kissable to most kissable. All jokes aside, my lips look the healthiest and freshest it has ever been in years.
My Verdict: Love it! Would definitely recommend it to anyone with dry lips!
