The video of a baby being rescued from the rubble went viral a few weeks ago. According to reports, the baby has been adopted.
She was born under the debris of a destroyed building, but unfortunately, her mother did not survive. Among her immediate family, she is the only one still alive.
She was still attached to her mother by the umbilical cord when the video became viral online. She has been sent to the hospital for treatment after being rescued.
Several individuals reportedly offered to adopt the baby, nonetheless, her aunt and her husband have now adopted her.
The family gave her the name Afraa in memory of her late mother. Before this, she was given the Arabic name Aya, which means "miracle," by the officials who saved her.
Her aunt's husband thanks God that Afraa is well and alive and says he will treat her like one of his children going forward.
"This girl means so much to us since there is no one left of her family but this baby," he continues. She'll be a memory for me, her aunt, and all of our family in her mother and father's village."
