ICYMI: WATCH: Delivery Rider's Wheelie Stunt Goes Viral, Netizens Are Furious
A contract sanitation worker lost his job immediately after a video of him dumping rubbish from a bin onto Lido Beach here went viral yesterday. Johor Housing and Local Government Committee chairman Datuk Mohd Jafni Md Shukor said the beach was cleaned up today and action was taken against the irresponsible individual.
A one-minute-22-second video posted by Tik Tok user Laaibanatasha showed a man believed to be a contract worker taking pictures on his mobile phone as proof that he had cleared the public rubbish bin.
However, Laaibanatasha's narration of the video revealed that in clearing the bin, the worker had actually dumped the rubbish onto the beach, opposite the Sultanah Aminah Hospital here. Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi and the Johor Baru Municipal Council (MBJB) were tagged on the video which went viral.

The city council, in a statement today, said the worker had been identified and terminated with immediate effect, while the contracted cleaning company was instructed to clear the "dumpsite". The company was also asked to sign a declaration that such an incident will never be repeated.
The video garnered mixed reactions from users, most of whom expressed their anger and dissatisfaction. What upset most netizens was the amount of rubbish that had accumulated along the beachfront, partially concealed by undergrowth.
This showed that the culprits may have been indiscriminately dumping rubbish there for sometime.
It is learnt most contract cleaners and sanitation workers are told to take "before and after" video or pictures as evidence that the work has been completed.
