Malaysia has been categorized as the country with the 14th fastest-growing economy in Asia for the year 2024 in a detailed analysis by Yahoo! Finance and Insider Monkey.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) Real GDP growth rates and GDP per capita growth rates were the basis for this ranking, which produced some intriguing findings, particularly when comparing the economic performance of our nation to that of other emerging Asian countries.
With a Real DGP Growth Rate of 4.3% and a GDP Per Capita Growth Rate of 6.75% in 2024, Malaysia ranked 14th in the rankings.
Thailand, the neighboring nation to the north, rated 20th in the analysis with a real GDP growth rate of 3.2% and a GDP per capita growth rate of 5.94%.
Brunei and Laos are two other emerging Southeast Asian nations whose economies were ranked lower than Malaysia.

Vietnam ranked sixth with a 5.8% real GDP growth rate and a 7.41% GDP per capita growth rate.
The Philippines ranked fifth with a 5.9% real GDP growth rate and an 8.03% GDP per capita growth rate.
The third position went to Cambodia (GDP per capita growth rate of 6.34 percent and real GDP per capita growth rate of 6.1%).
The rankings were determined by looking at each country's Real GDP Growth Rate and GDP Per Capita Growth Rate, according to Yahoo! Finance and Insider Monkey.
The IMF database provided the Real GDP Growth Rates for 2024, and the GDP Per Capita at Current Prices data from the IMF was used to compute the yearly GDP Per Capita Growth for each country between 2023 and 2024.
The rankings' primary criteria was the Real GDP Growth Rates for 2024; the secondary metric was the GDP Per Capita Growth Rates for the same year. When a tie-break in the rankings was necessary, the latter method was employed.
