Just a few days ago, it was reported that two Royal Malaysian Navy (TLDM) helicopters crashed at the TLDM Camp in Lumut, Perak, during a rehearsal for TLDM's 90th anniversary. Ten officers were tragically killed in the collision.
While most individuals would express their sympathy and sorrow, one 36-year-old Malaysian guy chose to say something unkind about the deceased cops and has now been punished!
According to Sinar Harian, the individual was fined RM23,000 by the Taiping Sessions Court today (April 26) for mocking the victims of the helicopter crash in a tweet.
His X post effectively said, "It was just a rehearsal, and they died." They did not get to go to war. (Face palm emoji).
Judge Nabisha Ibrahim imposed the penalty on the individual who pled guilty.
He has since paid the punishment and apologized to the families of the deceased.
"Sincerely, I apologize to all the family members of the victims and the military personnel,"
"I sincerely apologize for my conduct. "I (also) would like to sincerely apologize to any member of the public and all Malaysians in general who were affected by my 'post'," he said in Taiping Sessions Court.
