A Malaysia Airlines flight attendant was found dead today in her room while on a layover in Tokyo.
According to NST, the airline announced Norzana Hanim Hamzah's demise in a statement.
According to the airline, Norzana had just arrived at Narita International Airport and was having a stopover in Tokyo.
She was supposed to work today on a flight back to Kuala Lumpur.
Malaysia Airlines announced that it has spoken with Norzana's family and would provide them with the support they require.
"The airline will be helping Norzana's family through this trying time; they have been in contact with them.
The statement said, "Our prayers and thoughts are with Norzana's family and friends."
Sources said that Norzana had died before being picked up for her return to Malaysia on a Facebook page for cabin crew members globally.
"The cause of death has yet to be confirmed, but unconfirmed reports from the MH crew community suggest she possibly suffered a fall while getting ready for her return flight," according to the Facebook post.
