Pasar Besar Jalan Othman in Petaling Jaya is now closed for disinfection after a trader who works at the market’s fish section tested positive for COVID-19.
The wet market, also known as PJ Old Town market will be closed for 5 days to undergo the disinfection, reports Sin Chew Daily.
“The 51-year-old trader is part of the Kuala Lumpur wholesale market Covid-19 cluster as the trader had gone to the wholesale market to get his supplies,” said Petaling district officer Johary Anuar.
A screening will be carried out at the wet market at 9 am on Wednesday (Apr 29).
According to Johary, there were 578 market traders at the Jalan Otherman wet market, where 21 of them work at the fish section.
“We urge the 21 traders and their assistants from the fish section to come forward for screening, ” he said.
He also advised those who had contacted with the wet market traders here to get screened for COVID-19.
