PM Muhyiddin has held another announcement on the Afternoon of 4th February to address a few concerning matters. 


#1 Essentials Economic Sector To Remain Operation

In order to keep the economy running, essentials economic sectors are to remain their operation, however, they are strictly reminded to adhere to SOPs. A few keynotes:


• 59% covid positive cases have been detected from factories and construction sites therefore any violation of SOPS by these workplaces will not be tolerated, 

• Stricter actions will be imposed on those who fail to comply. 


#2 Government To Be Working With Private Healthcare Sectors

Government hospitals are currently at their breaking points therefore the government has reached out to private hospitals for their needed assistance in dealing with the growing amount of covid patients in Malaysia. 


#3 Vaccine To Be Distributed This Year

The government has successfully secured vaccines from Pfizer and BioNtech, and is free of charge for all Malaysians. As for the vaccination program, it will be conducted in three phases:


Phase 1 : All frontliners will be the first to receive the vaccines, starting this month. 

Phase 2 : From April onwards, senior citizens and those with high-risk conditions as well as the disabled are next in line to receive the vaccines.

Phase 3 : The vaccines will be distributed to the rest of the public. 


Dato Seri Khairy Jamaluddin has been appointed as the minister in charge of the vaccination program. 



#4 Parliament To Be Dismissed Only After The Pandemic Subsides

PM Muhyiddin further stated that the state of emergency will remain until after the pandemic is under control. By then, the parliament shall be dismissed and the national election shall take its place.
