Gopeng: "Usually when he wants to sleep, he must find and hold my leg first," said Nur Shamimi Abdul Malek, 27, a mother of Muhammad Fayyadh Ukasyah, 6, the disabled child that was lost and later found drowned in a mining pool near his house in Taman Kinta Baru here, this morning.
The mother of five said her child was considered the most spoiled and given attention all the time whether at home or anywhere else.
"Usually if he wants to sleep, he will sit close and hold my leg first, then he can sleep, otherwise he will have difficulty sleeping.
When he wakes up, he will look for me first and then he will do other things," she said when met by reporters at her residence here today.
Nur Shamimi said that at the time of the incident, only she and her children were at home while her husband was at work.
According to her, at the time of the incident she was taking a shower and both the house door, and the gate were locked.
“One of the children was outside and while I was taking a shower, so their brother opened the door, forgot to close it and went straight into the room.
"When I came out of the bathroom, I saw the door of the house and the gate was open and found that Muhammad Fayyadh was not there, so I immediately told his brother to go and look for him but he could not find him," he said.
She said, after that she too went out to look for him in a nearby park where he often plays.
“I was just looking at the places where he always goes to play, and I didn’t think he could get to the mine because usually he would play on that playground alone.
"Yesterday our family searched for him until 4.30am and did not find any clues," she said.
Meanwhile, the victim's father, Abdul Wahid Shah, 36, said that during the incident, he was on his way home from work and rushed home after learning the news that his child was missin.
Earlier today, the child's body was found floating at the edge of the mine which was located about 80 meters from his house at 9.45 this morning.
Kampar District Police Chief, Superintendent Hasron Nazri Hashim said the victim's body was found by the search operation team from Balai Gopeng.
"The search operation team from Balai Gopeng managed to find the victim floating at the edge of a mine within 80 meters from the victim's family house.
"The victim's body was brought up by the Gopeng Fire and Rescue (BBP) and an initial examination on the victim's body was made and found no element of 'foul play' and identification of the body was made by the victim's family," he said in a statement here today.
