Certainly, it's only common sense to settle your restaurant bill after you've ordered and enjoyed your meal. However, who could have anticipated that this woman would go to such lengths to avoid paying? The story, shared on Facebook, revolves around a customer dining at a Kuching restaurant, where she ordered dishes amounting to RM100.
Yet, upon finishing her meal, she approached the restaurant staff and requested the meal be complimentary, despite having already devoured it all. Her claim? She professed to be none other than the renowned Hong Kong actress Zhao Wei, famous for her role in "Shaolin Soccer." She further pledged to promote the restaurant in exchange for a free meal.
However, the restaurant management wasn't buying into her story and firmly insisted that she settle the bill, regardless of her claimed identity. This refusal led the woman to create a scene, raising her voice and causing a disturbance. She eventually stormed out of the restaurant, taking photos of the establishment and threatening to post them online.
What adds a touch of humour to the situation is that this wasn't the first time she had visited the restaurant and made such claims in an attempt to evade payment. Surprisingly, the restaurant staff discovered that she was financially capable of covering her bill since she was spotted driving a two-door Mercedes and even left a generous RM20 tip for one of the waitstaff.
In reality, whether you're Zhao Wei herself or anyone else, it's highly unlikely that anyone would request a complimentary meal due to their wealth and fame. In the end, the woman did eventually pay her bill but left in a huff.
