ICYMI: WATCH: Fancy Dance Moves Attract Customers At Johor Pau Stall
Every year, at least one viral meal will circulate as Ramadan approaches. This year, dates with a sliver of butter is fast gaining traction on social media.
In a Facebook post, Rizal_Hakimm suggested removing the seeds from the dates and placing butter in the centre. He said almonds, pistachios, or cashews can also be added for extra flavour. But there is a deeper story to the combination than just a viral fad.
Former Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs), Datuk Dr Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri, weighed in on the matter, inviting the public to try the meal.
"For those who haven't tried, you can prepare it for breaking the fast."
He also referenced a saying from Abdullah ibn Busr and Atiyyah ibn Busr, who said: "The Prophet Muhammad entered our house. So we prepared butter and dates. He liked butter and dates." (Narrated by Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah)
Meanwhile, the comments section was filled with netizens expressing their excitement to try this trend during sahur.
@Muhd_Umar__ suggested: "For a healthier option, use pure butter. It's more beneficial."
@MuadzamShah10 said: "SubhanAllah. This is something new to me, and I just learned about it today."
@_gustiputri said: "Alhamdulillah, I tried it for the first time today, Ustaz. I used Medjool dates with Lurpak butter, and the taste was quite good. The combination is just right."
