In Taiping, Perak, a family faced a shocking and heart-stopping moment when a massive python crashed through their ceiling, landing on their living room couch.
The Civil Defense Force (APM) in Taiping detailed the incident in a Facebook post, revealing that seven of their personnel rushed to the scene after receiving an urgent report about the unexpected reptilian visitor.
The python, measuring over 10 feet long, is believed to have entered the home from a nearby oil palm plantation and sought refuge in the ceiling. It remains unclear how long the snake had been hidden above the family's heads before the ceiling gave way, depositing the snake onto their sofa.
The process of capturing the python proved challenging. The snake slithered throughout the house in an attempt to evade capture, even heading towards the bathroom. After an intense effort, APM officers successfully secured the snake in a cage.
According to APM, the family had previously heard noises coming from the ceiling but dismissed them as typical sounds of small animals scurrying around. This assumption proved costly when the snake dramatically revealed its presence.
Thankfully, no injuries or fatalities were reported during the incident. The family acted swiftly by calling authorities, ensuring their safety.
Authorities urge the public to avoid handling wild animals on their own. If faced with a similar situation, immediately contact the relevant agencies to deal with the matter professionally.
