A body was discovered floating in Sungai Damansara near the Xin Hua warehouse at Section 22, Shah Alam, Selangor, yesterday.
Shah Alam police chief, ACP Iqbal Ibrahim, stated that the police were alerted at approximately 11.14 am by a member of the public who stumbled upon the body.
"Initial investigations revealed that the deceased is a male of unknown identity, as no identification documents were found on the body," Iqbal said in a statement.
The body was found lying face down, dressed in a red and black short-sleeved T-shirt and dark-coloured long pants. Notably, there was no visible BCG vaccination scar on the deceased's left shoulder, he added.
Preliminary physical examinations conducted at the scene did not uncover any signs of a struggle or injuries that could suggest the cause of death.
The body has been sent to Shah Alam Hospital for a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.
The case is currently being investigated as a sudden death report.
