Police are investigating a collision involving a police escort vehicle and a car on the North-South Expressway in Seremban, which was captured in a viral dashcam video. The incident occurred during heavy rain and has drawn significant public attention.
According to Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department director Yusri Hassan Basri, a report on the incident has been received, and investigations are underway.
"The department is conducting an investigation into the matter. Members of the public who have any information are urged to come forward to assist with the investigation," Yusri was quoted as saying by Utusan Malaysia.
The viral dashcam footage, widely shared on social media earlier today, shows the escort vehicle speeding along the expressway before crashing into the rear of another car. The vehicle was reportedly part of a convoy escorting a VIP. The collision occurred during heavy rain, which may have contributed to the conditions leading to the accident.
Netizens have expressed mixed reactions to the video, with some questioning the speed of the escort vehicle given the weather conditions.
Authorities are urging witnesses or individuals with relevant information to assist in the investigation. Further updates on the case are expected as the investigation progresses.
