After both Facebook & Google decided to continue to practice work from home until the end of the year, Twitter is joining the line and announced that all the employees will remain working at home permanently.
Twitter's CEO Jack Dorsey has emailed to all the employees notifying the work from home modal even after the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We've been very thoughtful in how we've approached this from the time we were one of the first companies to move to a work-from-home model, We'll continue to be, and we'll continue to put the safety of our people and communities first.” - Source from BuzzFeed News.
Twitter also announced these updates on their blog:-
Twitter was one of the first companies to go to work from the home model in the face of COVID-19, but we don’t anticipate being one of the first to return to offices.
"We were uniquely positioned to respond quickly and allow folks to work from home given our emphasis on decentralization and supporting a distributed workforce capable of working from anywhere. The past few months have proven we can make that work. So if our employees are in a role and situation that enables them to work from home and they want to continue to do so forever, we will make that happen. If not, our offices will be their warm and welcoming selves, with some additional precautions, when we feel it’s safe to return. "
Additionally, Twitter has also taking cautious approaches such as no business travel before September, and no in-person company events for the rest of 2020, and additional precautions in office for those employees that require to complete the tasks in the office.
