KUALA LUMPUR - The driver of a BMW car who went viral on social media for crashing into three vehicles 'intentionally' in two separate locations and was finally arrested by the police today.
Deputy Chief of the Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT), Superintendent Zulkafli Chek Lah said, his party saw the three videos that were posted through Muqri Abdul Jabar's Facebook page today which showed a BMW car had fled after colliding with three vehicles.
Preliminary investigation found that the accidents happened yesterday between 3.30pm and 4pm at Jalan 6/108C, Taman Sungai Besi and Sungai Besi Highway (BESRAYA) involving a BMW and three vehicles.
Through the video, the suspect who was moving from the direction of Kuchai Lama towards Taman Sungai Besi had hit the back of a Perodua Bezza car that was stopping at the Jalan 6/108C traffic light.
"After the collision, the suspect did not stop his vehicle until BESRAYA, where the suspect then crashed into the back of a Kawasaki Vulcan motorcycle that was moving in the rightmost lane.
"As a result of the collision, the motorcyclist fell and suffered only minor injuries," he said in a statement just now.
According to him, the suspect also did not stop his vehicle after the second collision and continued to move in BESRAYA until he crashed into the back of a Honda RS150R motorcycle that was moving in the middle lane.
"As a result of the collision, the motorcyclist fell and suffered minor injuries to his hands and feet," he said.
He asserted that the 37-year-old suspect was arrested and was taken to the Salak Selatan Baru Police Station for further action.
"Investigation found that the suspect is a mental patient and has now been detained at the Psychiatric Ward of the University of Malaya Medical Center (UMMC)," he said.
He said the case was classified under Section 43 of the Road Transport Act (APJ) 1987.
