WATCH: Arwind Kumar Calls Out Local Pharmacy For Insensitive Ad That Is Making M’sians Uneasy

Last night, Arwind Kumar passionately addressed a concerning issue in a video regarding a local pharmacy's recent advertisement. The ad featured a man working as a cashier who had a red marker scribbled on his forehead, mimicking a bindi/pottu, and using it as a barcode scanner.

Arwind expressed his disappointment, pointing out that not only was this a case of cultural appropriation, but it also highlighted the lack of moral responsibility on the part of the pharmacy's team.

He was deeply ashamed that a well-established local pharmacy would go through the planning stage, approve such an insensitive video, and publish it without considering the feelings of Malaysians.

Arwind also called out the content creator who impersonated the character in the video and criticized the brand for endorsing such a concept. He highlighted his frustration with those who couldn't distinguish between humour and idiocy, emphasizing that a joke should be genuinely funny.

The content creator firmly stated that the most shameless individuals are those who engage in such actions without regard for the emotions of others. He stressed the need to stop pursuing clout at the expense of hurting others and suggested that if someone wants to go viral, they should do so in a positive and impactful way.

As an update, the local pharmacy removed the video two days after its initial posting and disabled comments on the post to prevent further negative feedback.
